Riding Waves
I've got a secret
just for you
and I'll whisper it
on your lips
let you taste
the angles
that make me smooth
a hit to get you fixed
climb in your skin
fill out your shell
my music
leads you on
try to turn away
and you'll come back
base affection
digging in deep
won't demand love
or even respect
waste a little time
throwing a fit
placing aces on the table
to get a winning hand
will you sink in
breathe it out
place a bet
you've got a sure thing
hanging on the edge
so slip inside
take my hand
we'll ride the waves
'til they bring us in

Your poem seems to go with my post about rhythm. I especially love the words, "my music leads you on.. try to turn away and you'll come back."
ReplyDeleteRich, sensuous, cleverly worded. Sublime! Amy
